Worn Once

What could you do with a prom dress once you wear it for one night?
I wanted to buy a prom dress for my Junior/Senior Prom, and its like $80. But i’m only going to wear it once && don’t wanna waste money on the dress if it’ll only be worn once. So what should i do with the dress once i’m done with it? Thanks in advance =]!
you can try reselling it at a buffalo exchange/playdo’s closet (no clue if they take dresses.)
only 80$ for a prom dress?
Anyway I’d keep it as a keepsake. You might need to wear it again, anyway.

Black Suit, Worn Once $45[eBook]
$11.2 In iBeg, Borrow, Steal/i Michael Greenberg regales us with his wry and vivid take on the life of a writer of little means trying to practice his craft or simply stay alive. He finds himself doctoring doomed movie scripts; selling cosmetics from an ironing board in front of a women's department store; writing about golf, a game he has never played; and botching his debut as a waiter in a posh restaurant.brbrCentral characters include Michael's father, whose prediction that Michael's scribbling wouldn't get him on the subway almost came true; his artistic first wife, whom he met in a Greenwich Village high school; and their son who grew up on the Lower East Sideb,/b fluent in the language of the street and in the language of the parlor. Then there are Greenberg's unexpected encounters: a Holocaust survivor who on his deathbed tries to leave Michael his fortune; a repentant communist who confesses his sins; a man who becomes a woman; a Chilean filmmaker in search of his... |

Once Was Lost
$9.99 Samara Taylor used to believe in miracles. She used to believe in a lot of things. As a pastor's kid, it's hard not to buy in to the idea of the perfect family, a loving God, and amazing grace. But lately, Sam has a lot of reason to doubt. Her mother lands in rehab after a DUI and her father seems more interested in his congregation than his family. When a young girl in her small town is kidnapped, the local tragedy overlaps with Sam's personal one, and the already-worn thread of faith holding her together begins to unravel. In her third novel, acclaimed author Sara Zarr examines the coexistence of affliction and hope, and what happens when everything you thought you believed---about God, about your family, about yourself---is transformed. |

$11.36 The Irish romance ONCE may be a musical, but it is miles away from the traditional Hollywood idea of people bursting into song. Glen Hansard (frontman for indie rock band The Frames) plays the guy, a street musician who is playing for change when he meets the girl (Marketa Irglova), an immigrant from the Czech Republic. The pair immediately bond over their shared love of music (he is a guitarist, and she plays the piano), and the film chronicles their tentative relationship. Both are weighed down by plenty of baggage: his songs are fueled by a painful breakup, and she is a young mother who left her husband behind in her native country. Like the independent favorite BEFORE SUNRISE, ONCE is a simple, sweet drama that doesn't rely on an elaborate plot. With its use of digital video and handheld cameras, ONCE matches its spare visual style to its intimate mood. Each moment feels stolen from real life, and the story is at once familiar and fresh. Driven more by music than by dialogue, ONCE features a stirring soundtrack of heartfelt indie rock sung by Hansard and Irglova. Before his foray into film, director John Carney (ON THE EDGE) played bass in The Frames, and his passion for music is clear in this modern musical that hits every note perfectly. Once Were Lions (Hardcover)
$31.81 The British and Irish Lions are one of the most famous and recognized teams in world rugby. Every four years, the Lions—selected from the national sides of England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland—head to the southern hemisphere to do battle with either New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa. Acclaimed sportswriter Jeff Connor interviews a host of players—from the oldest surviving Lions from the 1946 tour and the icons of the game to those who have become mere footnotes in history—and draws out the compelling human stories from each Test series. The ups and downs of tour life are captured—the pride of being a Lion, the numerous personal feuds, and the many humorous anecdotes, taking in the historic wins and the ignoble losses. Many Lions had their lives enriched by having worn the famous red jersey; an equal number had their lives changed irrevocably in the opposite direction. Full of previously unchronicled stories—Des O’Brien was away from home for nine months on the 1946 tour which almost cost him his marriage; while in 1966 one well-known English winger went off tour with a woman he met in a bar and reappeared only for the last two matches—the book will conclude with the disastrous 2005 New Zealand tour and trenchant opinions from the players on the controversial Clive Woodward. Thanks to a host of amusing and heartbreaking anecdotes about life with the Lions, the book will offer a fascinating insight into how touring, sport and life has changed in the last 60 years. |

Once
$13.48 An unconventional family idyll set on a gentleman's farm in Pennsylvania in the 1930s, Once: As It Was is a vibrant pastoral memoir that mixes unsentimentality with childhood innocence in a moving story that builds to a spine-tingling confrontation."Of all my far back memories two remain most vivid, as if they had just happened. The first is of an incident that occurred in a few minutes' time; the second, a matter of months. The first happening surely was the key to my survival of the second…." So begins, veiled in mystery, Griselda Ohannessian's delightful childhood memoir about growing up on a farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, beneath "the friendly blue bowl" of sky, and the dangerous, preternatural events of the summer of 1939 that changed her life forever.Once: As It Was is narrated through the lens of the author's twelve-year-old self. Her farm-home—today a golf course—was a world as enchanting as Narnia, but without the illusion of fantasy: the perfume of locust trees in bloom, orioles patching nests, fairy dinners in ferny woodlands, the Elephant House, orange monkeys, ringing rocks. There is her dear father Bousie ("rhymes with Howsie"), who once dressed up like a crackling crone to buy apples from his daughter's makeshift apple stand, her loving Ma, her two sisters and brother, the Owls (the Cherokee Indian farmhands who were also part of the family), and others. There are the dirt roads that split off from macadam, "muggy river bottom weather," the glow of candles and lamps, her pet lamb Yamie, the bovine troll, and the roosters in action. Ohannessian's writing-memory meanders intently like a bright creek, through her schoolhouse where Margaret Toomer, the writer Jean Toomer's daughter, was one of two black students, through the living presence of books and pen pals, many secret places, a run-in with Professor Einstein, and even a little S. E. X. Then one fateful day a band of writers arrives, led by the poets Laura Riding and Robert Graves….Photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, poems, and a few bars of Morse code provide a lively, natural counterpoint to Ohannessian's moving tale. |

$10.92 Rebecca Rosenblum''s stories are urban with a strong contemporary feel. The stories record incidents in the lives of twenty-somethings -- students, techies in an office building, a girl toiling in the warehouse of a wholesale fruit and vegetable distrubutor, a boy who hustles for drug money, waitresses. These are constricted and often random lives and Rebecca Rosenblum''s vision mercilessly portrays their shapelessness. Here you will find no epiphanies, no moral simplifications, nary a single wispy apercu. These stories with their brilliant and innovative handling of dialogue break the Canadian mould. With her first book Rebecca Rosenblum has achieved what writers long for, a voice and style uniquely hers and experiences that engage and grip readers. |
